What do you like about your job?
I have always loved working with youth. I find fulfillment in helping young people explore career options and preparing them for work in order to gain financial stability. I understand how vital a role career services play, and I am excited to be able to meet new youth and help them retain positions, as well as seek potential growth opportunities for their futures.
Where did you work before YJC?
I've worked for the YMCA in Boston, MA and Evanston, IL doing youth development work for about six years.
What was your first job?
I worked as a sales associate at HoneyComb Hideout, a clothing store equivalent to Forever 21, in the Washington, D.C. area.
What did you learn from your first job?
I learned responsibility and how to meet job expectations. I ultimately learned the value of work ethic and time management.
Has your career path gone how you expected?
My educational background deals with human services, so yes, I believe I am fulfilling my career expectations. I am grateful to be doing something I am passionate about.
I can pat my head, rub my stomach, and hula hoop at the same time. But please don't ask for a demonstration!
