What do you like about your job?
I love working with youth to develop their confidence and skills.
Where did you work before YJC?
I worked in the Community Service Office at Evanston Township High School, connecting youth to meaningful service and leadership opportunities at local nonprofit organizations.
What was your first job?
In high school I was an administrative assistant at a trade school for nursing education.
What did you learn from your first job?
The key to customer service is trust and patience! They trust you to be knowledgeable, be responsive, and be there for them.
Has your career path gone how you expected?
Absolutely not! I grew up in a family of nurses and I imagined I would be in the medical field, working somewhere internationally. In college, I realized that I had a passion for working on education issues and specifically with pre-schoolers. I never would have thought I'd be working with high school-aged youth!
My favorite podcast is 2 Dope Queens. I bike everywhere and am a blue belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. I got second place at my first competition!
