What do you like about your job?
I like that I get to really help the youth with valuable life tools, skills, and advice that they will never forget. Showing empathy and finding solutions to their barriers that eventually will lead them on the path to success, and to be their best selves.
Where did you work before YJC?
I worked for Walt Disney Magnet School in Chicago, as a Teacher’s Assistant.
What was your first job?
My first job was at McDonalds, I was a cashier, and I moved my way up to drive thru cashier.
What did you learn from your first job?
I learned to work with others from different ethnicity, beliefs, and cultural backgrounds. I also learned how to interact with customers, and create that special customer experience when they left my register.
Has your career path gone how you expected?
Actually I would say before I finished College, I wasn’t quite sure of my career path. After graduating in 2015, It definitely help shape my passion and my urge to help our young people, and work in social services type industries. If I look back from 2015 to now, I would have to say yes it’s going in the right direction and path.
I have owned two of my own businesses prior to YJC, as well as attempted to star/create a community non-for profit organization.
