What do you like about your job?
Having the opportunity to impact others' lives positively and being able to share my stories and experiences with the students that I service. Watching students take the information provided and apply it to their job search to land a job is the greatest reward for me. Being back at my Alma Mater Gage Park is amazing as well.
Where did you work before YJC?
Career Development Instructor at Medtech College and then Career Services Coordinator at Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts College in Chicago.
What was your first job?
I was 13 years old and I worked at Arturo’s Mexican Food as the grounds keeper for the restaurant lot over the summer.
Has your career path gone how you expected?
It has really come together since I started as the Career Advisor back in 2008. I didn’t know what I wanted to do career-wise until 2008 and since then, every role I have taken has been apart of the career path I imagined.
I have completed the last two Chicago Marathons and was never a runner prior to training for both of them. I love sports and attend Bears, Bulls, and Blackhawks games regularly. I play in a competitive baseball league on Sundays during the summer. In addition to working at YJC, I work for the Chicago Cubs during the baseball season.
