When did you join the YJC Board?

Began work on the YJC building remodeling in 2010 and then joined the Board in 2011.

Why did you join the YJC Board?

I am most fortunate to have had every advantage behind me starting a career. Getting a first job and launching a career is critical to successful adulthood, and daunting or insurmountable for young people when lacking these advantages. The YJC is the sole source of help to bridge that gap for many..

What is your occupation?

Retired Architect after a 40+ year career in Chicago.

What was your first job?

My very first job, when I was about 12 years old, was working Saturdays & during the summer in the warehouse of my father’s lighting fixture business.

What did you learn from your first job?

I learned a lot about taking responsibility and being organized and accountable for my work.
