What do you like about your job?
I enjoy working with young people and helping them realize their goals and ambitions.
Where did you work before YJC?
Before YJC I was an assistant teacher in the Special Education Department at ETHS
What was your first job?
My first paid job was an assistant teacher at Central Childcare now called KinderCare
What did you learn from your first job?
I learned how to budget my money and how to be more responsible, when it came to showing up to work on time.
Has Your career path gone how you expected?
Yes, I always knew I wanted to work with children in an academic setting , even though my parents thought I would be better off pursuing a career in Journalism. So, being the “good daughter” I attended Columbia College Chicago as a journalism major and did an internship for a year at NBC my sophomore year. After wasting a ton of money, I switched majors to circle back to what I was destined to do, and that is inspiring children and young adults to reach their potentials.
I am a professional Dancer. I’ve performed at the Auditorium Theater for Dance Africa Chicago and the Chicago Theatre with Lupe Fiasco.
