Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (December 3, 2019) and fueled by the power of social media and collaboration, Giving Tuesday inspires millions of people across the globe to show up and give back to causes and issues that matter to them. The goal is to create a massive wave of generosity that lasts well beyond that day, and touches every person on the planet.
On this Giving Tuesday, Youth Job Center requests your support so that we can continue to support young people in achieving career success. Your support will help provide youth throughout Chicago and the surrounding suburbs with:
Public transit passes so youth can access work even if its far from home.
One-on-one Career Advising sessions for anyone who walks through our doors.
Work-Readiness Trainings that teach hard and soft skills such as resume development, interview techniques, positive communication skills, conflict resolution, problem solving, professionalism, customer service, and more.
Digital Learning so youth can develop the skills they need to participate in a 21st Century Workforce.
Job fairs and hiring events so youth can connect directly with employers in their communities.
Supportive Services, so that youth who have experienced barriers such as homelessness, involvement with the criminal justice system, trauma or abuse, and more, can get the help they need to overcome those barriers and achieve career success.
You’re gift, regardless of size, makes a difference in the lives of the young people Youth Job Center serves. Please help us in making sure young people throughout Chicagoland have the resources and support they need to build a meaningful career and fulfill their potential. Together we can build a better community, one job at a time.
