Connecting young people directly with employers is a vital part of Youth Job Center’s work. YJC participates in and hosts several job fairs throughout the year, including our own annual Spring and Fall Job Fairs.

On Thursday August 22nd, 2019, from 3:00PM - 6:00PM Youth Job Center hosted a job fair on Chicago’s Southwest Side. The event was held at Catalyst Maria School, located at 6727 S California Avenue, Chicago, IL 60629.

This event was open to all job seekers and attendees has the opportunity to connect with 25 employers and 19 community based organizations.

Special thanks to Southwest Organizing Project, National Able, Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership, Triton College, and Employment & Employer Services for partnering with us on the event and making it possible.

For more information on how you can partner with Youth Job Center or attend a job fair contact Julia Brownfield at or (847) 864-5627 ext. 28

YJC also works with the City of Evanston, Evanston Township High School, and the City of Evanston’s Mayor’s Employer Advisory Council to host the Mayor’s Summer Youth Employment Program Job Fair in Evanston every spring.

YJC hosts two job fairs each year. Each spring there is also an additional job fair, in partnership with the City of Evanston, for high school students seeking summer employment. The YJC Fall Job Fair partners with employers looking to fill seasonal holiday positions, while the Spring Job Fair does the same for employers whose peak season is in the summer.

YJC also supports the Mayor’s Summer Youth Employment Program Job Fair, held at ETHS every spring, by providing training and staffing support.

If you are interested in attending Youth Job Center’s pre-fair Job Readiness Workshops please sign up here. If you are among the first 50 attendees to complete one of the four workshops you will have the opportunity to skip the line at the job fair.
