Why did you join the YJC Board?

In addition to Jeff Coney telling me to join, I joined and have stayed actively involved on the Board because of YJC’s critical mission as a grassroots job readiness/placement organization (with a particular emphasis on those with the greatest needs).

What was your first job?

Corn detasseling – age 14, in the cornfields of eastern Iowa

What did you learn from your first job?

How NOT to manage people. The supervisor would yell at us to increase our productivity, which was not particularly effective.
