Marcus Campbell

Assistant Superintendent/principal, Evanston Township High School

Marcus Campbell is the Assistant Superintendent and Principal of Evanston Township High School, but he first began working at 10 years old raking leaves.

"I thoroughly enjoyed it," says Campbell, who explains that he began raking leaves for neighbors at his father's request.

Campbell says that his first job taught him how to be on time, how to do a good job, and how to save money. And, while Campbell says he always knew he wanted to go into education, he still gained invaluable experience in his first job.

"It taught me to be responsible and how to provide good customer service," says Campbell.

It's a far leap from raking leaves as a 10 year old to overseeing a high school, but Campbell says his first job "totally prepared" him for the career he has today.
