Kimbreal was born and raised on the South side of Chicago in a single-family home. From a young age, she knew that she wanted to change the course of her future and be an example for her family. In December 2021, Kimbreal enrolled in YJC’s Career Pathway program with hopes of gaining a coding certification to help secure employment within the tech industry.

With the help of her Career Advisor, Kimbreal enrolled in a coding boot camp and got straight to work learning in-demand technical skills! Kimbreal has successfully completed her tech bootcamp, receiving various tech certifications, and has now landed her dream job working as a Software Engineer at Avanade. Kimbreal shared, “Youth Job Center connected me to resources and a Career Advisor who provided me with the guidance I had been missing. YJC has put in place the tools for me as a young adult to pursue my dreams relentlessly and without the fear of failure.”
