After graduating from college, Hanna was questioning her original professional plan (a career in finance). So she reached out to Youth Job Center to help her figure out her options.

Hanna had an interest in urban planning and wanted to find out if it would be a viable career path for her.

Youth Job Center helped her connect with a paid work experience (PWE) with the Chicago Loop Alliance as an urban planning intern. Through her PWE, Hanna was able to meet and connect with urban planners across the Chicago area. She also earned high praise from her boss, Chicago Loop Alliance director of development Christian Boyer, who described her as a terrific young person who was punctual, hard-working, and eager to take on new tasks.

After completing her PWE, Hanna landed a permanent job as a front desk associate at the Holiday Inn Express Chicago, where she’s honing valuable communication and organizational skills while she contemplates her next steps.
