Position: Lube Tech

Dondre came to Youth Job Center in February 2015, when he was 18 years old. Dondre enrolled in YJC's Automotive Program which gives participants interested in working in the automotive maintenance industry the opportunity to attend a ten week automotive maintenance course in conjunction with a 200-hour paid work experience with a number of our automotive employer partners. Four weeks into automotive training class Dondre was offered a part- time lube tech position at Auto Barn in Evanston making $10.00 per hour. Due to Dondre's commitment and dedication he was able to build a great relation- ship with his peers and supervisors at Auto Barn, and he was offered a full-time position beginning this November! This new position includes a pay increase as well as a union membership. 

Of his experience at Youth Job Center, Dondre said: 

"Youth Job Center has been an exciting and great learning experience for me. I'm currently a Lube Technician working full-time with Nissan thanks to the motivation I received from Youth Job Center.
