Take the first step towards your healthcare career today!

Youth Job Center has partnered with Chicago Community Learning Center (CCLC) to provide a free healthcare training program! The training program lasts 18 to 20 weeks and designed to jumpstart your healthcare career. Training combines classroom and hands-on learning and is free of charge for all YJC clients. Classes will be held in-person or hybrid at one of CCLC’s campuses:

  • Evergreen Park Campus: 9730 S. Western Ave., Suite 502, Evergreen Park, IL

  • Chicago Thorek Campus: 840 W. Irving Park Rd., Suite 203, Chicago, IL

Upon completion, you will leave with various healthcare certifications from the National Healthcare Association (NHA) and Illinois Department of Public Health for a CNA State License. Clients will also have access to a paid work experience within the healthcare industry. Current employer partners include: Swedish Hospital, Evanston Hospital, St. Frances Hospital, Skokie Hospital, and more!


Certifications

Clients will receive four certifications upon completion: Patient Care Technician (PCT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), EKG Technician, and Phlebotomy Technician.

Requirements for enrolling:

  • Must be between 18-24 years old

  • Currently out-of-school

  • Legally eligible to work in the United States


We are now offering tutoring sessions for YJC clients!

Our tutoring sessions will happen virtually every Monday and Thursday from 4-7pm, unless otherwise noted. If you are interested in attending, please reach out to Francesca Snow or Sara Algawerash. Upcoming tutoring dates are:

  • Monday, September 11th and Thursday, September 14th

  • Monday, September 18th and Thursday, September 21st

  • Monday, September 28th (no Thursday session)

  • Monday, August 7th and Thursday, August 10th

  • Monday, August 21st (no Thursday session)
