In September 2020 hosted its first-ever virtual Annual Meeting for staff, YJC’s Board of Directors, volunteers, community partners, and guests. We reviewed the successes, challenges, and lessons learned from the past year, while also looking forward to the opportunities this next program year brings.

YJC staff reflected on how programs and services have adapted as a result of the pandemic, public closures, and economic downturns. They also shared information about the challenges our youth participants face, how staff have responded, and the resiliency of young people in the wake of these unprecedented events.

One of YJC’s innovative employer partners, Alan Moy of Viet Nom Nom, spoke about his experience hiring young people through YJC over the years, highlighting the strength of community partnerships and the return on investment when employers intentionally develop and advance their staff.

YJC also celebrated the introduction of a new Board of Directors’ Chair, Jessica Ticus, and thanked the outgoing Chair, Scott Hurwitz, for his unwavering commitment and dedicated leadership over the past 3 years.
