What do you like most about your job?
At YJC I am encouraged to keep learning new things. It’s fun to identify things we could do better and to figure out how to make that happen.
Where did you work before YJC?
I taught 7th and 8th grade and loved it!
What was your first job?
In high school I was a typist for an accountant.
What did you learn from your first job?
Details and accuracy matter! Ever since that first job, taking my time and proofreading my work has actually saved me time in the long run.
Has your career path gone the way you expected?
At first, yes, I went straight into teaching after college. Over 20 years later, I decided to tackle something new in order to be able to work for YJC.
Fun fact:
I got that first job as a typist because I was a flute player. The account believed that playing an instrument increased my finger strength and speed and I didn’t argue :) You never know what will give you an edge in an interview!
