What do you like most about your job?
I love getting to support young people in their journey to find meaningful employment.

Where did you work before this?
Previously, I worked to support youth and adult jobseekers in Chicago as the Employment Coordinator at One On One. I have also worked as a Family Advocate with the Economic Opportunity Agency of Washington County and as a Food Education Service Member with FoodCorps.

What was your first job?
When I was 16, I worked the 4 AM to 9 AM shipment shift at Old Navy.

What did you learn at your first job?
My main takeaway from my first job was if you say you have open availability, you will be scheduled for any needed shift (i.e. 4 AM). In this job, I learned how to successfully work with others outside of a classroom, and now almost ten years later, I still fold my t-shirts using the Old Navy method.

Has your career path gone the way you expected?
Not exactly. When I was in elementary school, I wanted to be a dolphin trainer at Sea World. After I graduated high school, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do, but ended up deciding that I wanted to become a news and editorial journalist. However, I changed my mind, double majored in journalism and social work, and have been pursuing social work since then!

Fun fact:
One of my hobbies is flying trapeze!
